The hotel’s location on newly renovated Wacker Drive at Michigan Avenue is at the epicenter of the city’s activity. Hotel 71 is minutes from most office buildings in the loop and minutes across the river from the Merchandise Mart and the burgeoning River North District with its art galleries and first class restaurants. Theatres and museums are literally a block away and Chicago’s famed Michigan Avenue and Magnificent Mile, with its exclusive boutiques and department stores, start one block east of the hotel. Navy Pier and the beaches on Lake Michigan are a short walk away.

By Automobile

From O’Hare (via 90/94):
Take the Kennedy Expressway to downtown Chicago (The Loop) exiting at Ohio Street East. Proceed to LaSalle Street and make a right on LaSalle, then turn left on Wacker. The hotel is located on the right-hand side of the street.

From Midway Airport (via I-55 "Stevenson" Expressway):
Take Cicero Avenue North to I-55 North/East. Follow all signs leading to The Loop and North Lake Shore Drive. Take Lake Shore Drive North to the Wacker Drive exit. This exit will wrap under Lake Shore Drive and then head west. At this point, you are on lower Wacker Drive. To get to Upper Wacker Drive, take the ramp farthest to the right headed west (poorly marked). The second stoplight is Michigan Avenue. Hotel 71 is located just west of Michigan on the left-hand side of the street.

Taxi:
Travel time to downtown varies considerably. Average costs are $30-$40 from O'Hare and $20-$30 from Midway.

Limousines:
Arrive in style in a luxurious chauffeur-driven sedan or stretch limousine. Our concierge would be happy to make pick-up or drop-off arrangements for you.

Airport Bus:
Both O’Hare and Midway Airports have buses that leave for downtown every half hour between 5:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., with departures every 15 minutes during peak hours. Passengers can meet the bus at terminal 1, 2 or 3 by the luggage claim area. For more information, call Continental Air Transport at: 312.454.7799. Costs to and from O’Hare: $20.00 one-way or $36.00 round-trip. Costs to and from Midway: $15.00 one-way or $27.00 round-trip.

Public Transit from O’Hare and Midway

From O’Hare:
The train from inside the airport terminal will take you downtown in approximately 40 minutes. The trains run 24 hours a day, and leave every 3-5 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes at night. Exit at the Washington Street stop, and walk three blocks north to Wacker. Cost: $1.50

From Midway:
The trains leaving Midway will take you downtown in approximately 30 minutes. Plan to allow a little extra time, because trains depart every 10-20 minutes. Exit at the State and Lake stop, and walk North to Wacker. Cost: $1.50

Valet parking is available at the Hotel main entrance. We suggest that you allow 30 minutes for the delivery of your car. If you require your car at a specific time in the morning, you may call the night before. Please note that the daily parking charge includes one drop-off and pick-up. It does not include in and out privileges throughout your stay without additional charges being incurred. The garage facility is an outside service owned and operated by Systems Parking.
